Tummy tuck or Abdominoplasty

After pregnancy, following weight loss, and when physical activity, diet and sports are no longer sufficient to restore a flat tummy, then surgery can be an option.

In case of only excessive fat, liposuction will be preferred. If there is also loose muscle, stretch marks, abdominal apron, then abdominoplasty will be considered. It can also be used alone to tighten the skin for a flatter abdomen. Abdominoplasty surgery consists of removing excess abdominal fat by liposuction, removing expanded skin and re-tensioning the abdominal wall if necessary to achieve a flat abdomen. This surgical operation requires an incision and therefore a scar on the bikini line, the width of which, often from one hip to the other, will depend on the amount of skin to be removed. There will also be a scar around the navel, except in the case of a mini abdominoplasty. The scar can be forgotten more easily thanks to the UrgoTouch ® laser treatment.

THE SCAR

The scar is located on the pubic area at the edge of the upper part and between the two hips.
There is also a scar around the navel except in case of mini-abdominoplasty. In this case, the horizontal scar will also be less wide.

Surgical techniques are evolving !
The recent technique of abdominoplasty, known as high superior tension abdominoplasty, allows the scar to be placed as low as possible on the pubis and the tension to be distributed over the entire abdominal wall and no longer only on the scar. Less tension means less risk of scar enlargement and therefore a more beautiful scar.
The final scarring result also and always depends on the patient’s skin.
